A MOMENT WITH MAJOR.

Conversations in Light: A Moment with MAJOR.

During our exclusive Conversations in Light interview with MAJOR. at the BOE Studios in North Hollywood, the Houston native and Berklee College grad explained the powerful messages behind his two new songs. “Why I Love You” is the “definition of love personified,” and “Keep On” is a reminder to not “let nobody slow you down.”

MAJOR.’s insistence to use his music to inspire is a part of his purpose. “When one lends himself to considering the responsibility of giving people ways to live and be better, they often shine,” he shares in the above clip. “The greatest light is God himself. So when you align yourself with those principles in addition to owning your truth, that’s a strong, strong force.”

MAJOR., Mara Hruby, and PJ are a part of the Museum of Light’s third online exhibition series. Last spring, the Museum of Light launched Light Tuesdays with the likes of Michelle Williams, Joi Gilliam and Mali Music. In the fall, the Conversations in Light series spotlighted Pharaohe Monch, TiRON & Ayomari, Trevor Jackson, Angie Stone and R. City, among others.

Veteran music journalist Billy Johnson Jr., a producer for the Museum of Light, stresses the importance of discussing the artistic process. “The artists light up when asked to explain their art, their intentions, and connecting with their audience,” Johnson says. “Each of these stories are incredibly motivating.”
